Hens Lay Eggs

food for thought

Good intentions

8/9/2017

Y'all know what the road to hell is paved with. Yes, to use another cliche, I'm a day late and a dollar short this week. I'll blame it on being busy, even though that's no proper excuse. I seem to be running behind on everything this week.

So, an update.

Progress on Russian Pride went apace the last week of July. The first week of August I got a little more done. This week, nothing. Busy, remember? Never fear, I will have Russian Pride ready and released by September 30. The book will be available for pre-order in early September.

I'm also announcing my retirement from 4-H participation. To put it tactfully, my husband and I have reached the stage in our lives when we'd like to explore new interests and other activities. We're getting old, folks, and we'll soon be enjoying that empty nest. The older son moves back on campus in a couple of weeks. The younger son will leave for basic training in mid-September.

Ideas for a few more stories have been simmering on my mind's back burner. I'm not ready to start writing them yet, but I think I have a couple of good ones in the creative stew pot. We'll see if I can better manage my time and effort to produce another book by year's end. Don't hold your breath.

Anyone in the Louisville, KY area is encouraged to attend the Imaginarium on October 6 - 8. Yep, I'll be there. Come by my exhibit booth and say hello. I'll have a prize drawing for a nice little door prize to help make the event worth your while. I'll also be scoping out GenCon 50 in Indianapolis, IN on August 19 to see whether it's an event that would make sense to attend as an exhibitor. My sister-in-law warns me to expect to see much skin in unexpected places. Hmmm.

My Game of Thrones addiction rules my evenings, for which I still blame the elder son. I've discovered the joys of binge watching. Lucky me. I've got to get caught up before he moves into the on-campus apartment and takes the X-Box with him.

So, keep reading and I'll return to my usual programming (same Bat channel, same Bat time) next week.
