About The Author
A note from the author: As a child on the farm of my maternal grandparents in Southern Ohio, while carted around on the shoulders of my teenage uncles, or on the broad tall backs of our horses, my view of life began atop those high places. From those lofty vantage points, the fairytale landscape and the storybook yarns spun by the hill people there impressed my mind's eye and ear so indelibly that they emerged over the years as images in my artwork and as the bedrocks of my last three books.

The first of the three is "Guardians and Other Angels," (http://goo.gl/imUwKO), a book of creative nonfiction set during the early to middle Twentieth Century. It has been compared to Pulitzer Prize winners, "The Grapes of Wrath," and "Angela's Ashes."

My novella for young readers titled "Rooster Tale" (goo.gl/vNq32g) is adapted from an excerpt of "Guardians and Other Angels."

My college instructors encouraged me to write professionally, but life got in the way, and the idea became only a pined-for dream that seemed utterly doomed. But fate stepped in on the morning of August 10, 2000 while I was lying in bed suffering yet another flare-up of the Crohns Disease that had plagued me for nearly a decade, the morning that I had decided I hadn't much left to look forward to in life any longer. Fate got me on my feet and sent me to the shower, and while there, a story flowed over me as if the words were contained within the molecules of the water. I returned to my bed with a notepad and pen, began to write, and in those few moments, my life had purpose and validity again, a life as an author of books. That book became an Amazon best-seller.

Guardians And Other Angels Blurb:

An ambitious and thorough exploration of two families whose experiences are funneled through the pivotal early to middle decades of the twentieth century, this seamless blend of fiction and nonfiction renders an authentic slice of Americana at its most personal and profound. Based on actual events, oral history, and featuring transcriptions of dozens of authentic private letters written by the story’s principles, Greene delivers an insider’s view of the hearts and minds and day to day events of a singular group of people counted among history’s greatest generation. Powerful in its sweeping journalistic impact and at the same time tender in its prose, this highly rated book contributes greatly to the vast preservation efforts of stories and data germane to the era it captures.

Rooster Tale Blurb:

Ailing young Bussy’s bond with Tarzan, his pet rooster, seems unbreakable. But competing forces cause a big problem and lead to a circumstance that is not only heartbreaking but dangerous to Bussy’s fragile health. Grandmother Hen and Polly the Perfect Pullet, with the aid of their other barnyard friends, unite with Bette, the boy’s little sister, to transform the situation to one that will make Bussy feel better. Best-selling author Linda Lee Greene adapted ROOSTER TALE from an excerpt of her novel GUARDIANS AND OTHER ANGELS http://goo.gl/imUwKO. ROOSTER TALE weaves an enchanting story within its 64 pages, one that you, your children, and your grandchildren will cherish for years to come. Greene has been compared to Pulitzer Prize winners Frank McCourt and John Steinbeck in the style of her prose and quality of her storytelling. And she doesn’t disappoint in ROOSTER TALE. The book’s special magic is also due to its world-class illustrations rendered by award-winning artist Edith D. Wadkins.

Cradle Of The Serpent: A Man and a Woman's Imperfect Love
~2018 American Fiction Awards Cross-Genre Finalist~

Blurb:

Multi-award-winning author Linda Lee Greene weaves a tale that brims with unimaginable twists and turns in a long-term marriage. “Enthralling” journeys into the human psyche, romantic love, archaeology, and American Indian history carry the reader into archaeologist Lily Light’s quest to come to terms with the catastrophic consequences of her husband’s infidelity.

The trauma throws Lily into “amazing” episodes of past-life regression in which she takes on the persona of a young maiden named White Flower, a tribal member of the long-ago builders of Ohio’s Great Serpent Mound. White Flower’s life of thousands of years before reveals to Lily the unexpected path to her own salvation.
